𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘮, 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴...✨ These are the energies of the root chakra (Muladhara). The Muladhara is the root chakra or first energy center located at the base of your spine. It relates to your connection with your physical body, ancestry and environment. When it is balanced you feel safe, secure, supported and peace. You feel fearless, knowing that you can shoot for the stars because you are connected to the Earth below us. When it is balanced you realize and remember that the universe has your back. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝟓 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐫𝐚 ✨ 1. GROUND — Go out into nature (i.e. any grassland, park, beach, mountain). Stand up and feel your feet rooted soundly onto the Earth below you. Lift each toe and replant it onto the ground. Energetically bring the arches of your feet to kiss the ground below you. Feel the beautiful, grounding energy move into your body and remind yourself that you are human, and you are connected to beautiful Mother Earth. 2. LISTEN TO MUSIC — Put some headphones on or turn on your speaker. Listen to music that grounds you, whatever that means to you (maybe an old lullaby, acoustic tunes, sacred/religious melodies, bluegrass, folk music...heavy metal [if that's your thing!]) Music is a divine part of the human experience. Its existence has long surpassed that of most things in our culture today; clothing, language, technology...tune into your root chakra by listening to music and allowing its vibrations to soothe you. 3. CONNECT WITH YOUR ROOTS — Whether we'd like to admit it or not, we came from somewhere. They say that one of the first decisions we make is in utero when we declare "I am alive" or we choose to have a human experience. Of course we all have different experiences, and some of us may not be able to reconnect with those who raised us or our hometowns. What you can do is think about where you came from, and realize that it was this same body, mind and spirit you are in currently which guided you through your childhood experiences. You are rooted, and always have been. \4. EAT/DRINK GROUNDING FOODS — Spices such as ginger, tumeric and cinnamon can be grounding. Same as foods like rice, quinoa, and proteins such as tempeh, seitan and tofu. When you eat or drink these foods, take your time. Chew slowly and imagine the food nourishing your body, or hold the warm cup of tumeric tea in your hands and allow its warmth to soothe you. 5. GIVE YOURSELF SOME ALONE TIME — Dedicate some time each day, or at least each week to "ground." Decorate your space with some nice lighting or a candle, make a cup of tea or coffee and get comfortable. Journal about your week, current feelings or anything which comes to mind. Plan out your tasks for the day, week or month. Participate in self-care, whatever that means to you, and remind yourself that you are grounded, safe and secure always.
